Chartreuse Green VEP (Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolong or aged exceptionally long) is made using the same processes and same secret formula as the traditional Chartreuse Green liqueur but then has an extra-long ageing in oak casks for 8 years, so it reaches an exceptional flavour quality, mellowing delightfully.
Wax-sealed cork, back-label wax-stamped with the Chartreuse seal. Presented in a wooden box marked with a branding iron.
Since the quantity available each year is strictly limited, every bottle is identified by its own number and is not always in stock.
On the nose there's angelica, lime, marmalade, cocoa, and peppermint.
There are flavours of fresh menthol and liquorice with sappy, earthy, root like with herbaceous dimensions.
The finish has pine and peppermint with a hint of black pepper.
Best enjoyed : A subtle, mellow after dinner liqueur which should be consumed very cold.
