Description

Caperdonich distillery was on the banks of the river Spey, but is no more. The building opened in 1898 and was closed in 2002 and taken down in 2011, brick by brick. This single malt is all that remains of the whisky from the 'Secret Well'.

Even in its heyday, Caperdonich was a little distillery, making whisky in small batches. Other distilleries grew and grew, but Caperdonich stood firm and true. While the building may be gone, the distiller's craft lives on.

This whisky is a small-batch release. First fill American oak barrels bring rich fruit flavours of apricot and pineapple with sweet honey and gentle spices in the background. This is the ultimate malt from the closed distillery - well-balanced with an incredibly long, sweet, smooth finish. Once this whisky is gone, there will never be another.

Bottled at cask strength of 51.1% alc/vol. 700ml

It has sweet honey aromas with fresh pineapple taste on the palate and a long, sweet and smooth finish. Caperdonich 30YO non-peated is a cask strength single malt usually exclusive to travellers. It is the one and only available batches coming from this now closed distillery.
