About Hyde. Ireland's presidential whiskey
The rugged County Cork Coast in Ireland, provides the perfect maturing conditions for our award winning Irish whiskey.

Originally distilled in a traditional copper pot still, Hyde whiskey is double matured: firstly in flame charred, first fill, oak bourbon casks and then usually 'finished' in either a vintage Olorosso Sherry cask or dark Caribbean Rum cask.

Hyde is handcrafted in very small limited edition batches and non-chill filtered for a more original character.

Hyde is a presidential quality whiskey, celebrating the inaugural appointment of Ireland's very first president, Douglas Hyde, and the establishment of the Irish Free State in 1922.

A 100% malted Irish barley whiskey from a single distillery - Hyde pure Single Malt is a true taste of Ireland.

The Hyde family have a long tradition of being involved in the drink business in Ireland. they were well known Tavern owners at "Tinker's Cross" outside Bandon in West cork from 1640 to 1962. Here the Hydes would sell Irish whiskey and draught Irish stout straight from wooden casks that they would tap by hand with a wooden mallet and a brass tap.

The drink business runs in the Hyde family tree for over 12 generations. At one stage in 1916 their grandfather, granduncle and grandaunt all owned an Irish pub in Bandon, West Cork. Today, Alan and Conor Hyde are the first generation not to own a pub in West Cork, Ireland, but they are still selling some of Ireland's finest whiskey.
